From March 12, Yeddyurappa has visited 28 gram panchayats at least twice. This is perhaps an unprecedented by a president of a national party campaign so extensively in panchayat levels, reports Kannada Prabha.

Yeddyurappa has even campaigned on Ugadi festival without taking a break.

But Siddaramaiah spent just a week on campaigning in these two constituencies.

While it’s yet to be seen whether voters will appreciate Yeddyurappa’s effort or support Siddaramaiah’s government.

In Nanjangud, former minister V Srinivas Prasad who quit Congress is fighting on BJP ticket against Congress’ Kalale Keshavamurthy. In Gundlupet, widow of HS Mahadevaprasad – Congress minister – Geeta Mahadevaprasad is the Congress candidate, and CS Niranjan Kumar is the BJP candidate.
