10 top mismanagements of Aero Show 2017

Aero India is one of the prestigious even of Asia. Army chiefs of many countries and representatives of international Aero companies participate in the show. Such a show has become notorious for its mismanagements in this year too. Here are the top ten mismanagements of Aero Show:

  1. Traffic hassle: Aero Show was conducted for 5 days and general public are allowed only on the last two days of the show. Hence huge traffic was found near Yelahanka. People had paid from ₹ 600 to ₹ 2500/- for the show. But their cars and vehicles were standing in long traffic jams. If the management had allowed the public to view on all the 5 days of the event, then the traffic would have been reduced comparatively.
  2. There are many alternative routes to reach the Aero show from different parts of Bengaluru. But the Management had not instructed those alternatives to the general public, neither it bothered to display the sign boards on the alternative routes to facilitate general public to use those roads.
  3. Aero India is an event of exhibition of latest technology and innovation. But cleanliness was missing at the venue of the exhibition. Even the premises of aero show was seen ugly and unhygienic. Waste papers, steel waste, plastic bags and items were thrown everywhere in the Aero Show.
  4. People who could not obtain a ticket or who wanted to view the show for free of cost had gathered in large numbers, outside the compound of Air base at surrounding villages viz., Gantiganahalli, Hunasamaranahalli, and other places. Serpents and other reptiles that habitat underneath the ground started coming out due to stampedes and due to the noise of aeroplanes. The snake lovers say that hundreds of such innocent reptiles are killed by the mob.
  5. More than 5 lakh people had gathered to view the aero show. But the management had opened just 3 food courts. Of course, two separate five star hotel food courts were opened exclusively for VVIPs and foreigners but general food court could not bear the rush of general public.
  6. Sale of meat was prohibited in the surrounding areas of Aero Show, in order to prevent vultures, eagles and other birds of Accipitridae genus to fly on the sky where aero show took place. But all kinds of non-vegetarian food were displayed in the VVIP food court. Besides, the Management had not bothered to provide drinking facility in the premises.
  7. Proper toilets were not made for the common people. Temporary toilets were installed in some places but they were not quite sufficient for the huge mob. Not a single mobile toilet was seen in the premises. Particularly women found difficulty to address their nature call.
