Arun Jaitley no more: Yediyurappa to Kumaraswamy, Karnataka leaders pay tributes
Karnataka leaders paid tributes to senior BJP leader and former finance minister Arun Jaitley, who died on Saturday in AIIMS hospital, New Delhi
Arun Jaitley breathed his last on Saturday (August 24) in New Delhi. Karnataka politicians paid tributes to BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who passed away due to a prolonged illness at New Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He was 66. Jaitley was admitted at AIIMS due to breathing problems on August 9 and ever since his health was being examined.
Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa also extended on the demise of former finance minister Arun Jaitley. He wrote, "I am saddened to hear demise of Sri @arunjaitley, the senior leader and former Union minister who worked hard to make a significant change in the economic reform of the country as the Finance Minister. It is an insurmountable loss to the country. May his soul rest in peace (sic)."
JD(S) national president and former Prime Minister of India, HD Deve Gowda called Jaitley "one of the tallest leaders of our country", while recounting his contributions to the various portfolios he handled in the Union Cabinet.
HD Kumaraswamy expressed condolences.
"I had interacted with Shri. @arunjaitley on multiple occasions on issues pertaining to Karnataka. He was respected across party lines. May his soul rest in peace. May his near ones be able to bear the loss (sic)."
Former chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah said, "Sad to know that Shri. @arunjaitley is no more. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family members & well-wishers (sic)."
