Indian markets in major bull run, Sensex up 480 points

 

India’s benchmark Sensex index surged over 480 points to an almost 9-month high of 27,601.28 and the NSE Nifty retook the 8,400-mark on Monday, primarily driven by a flurry of buying activity, reflecting firm Asian cues said a report in the Mint.

3:09pm: Shares of banks are trading higher. Punjab National Bank surges 8%, Allahabad Bank 5.8%, Bank of Baroda 4.8%, Bank of India 4.4%, Oriental Bank of Commerce 4.3%, Union Bank of India 4.3%, Canara Bank 3.8%, Andhra Bank 3.7%, ICICI Bank Ltd 3.4%, Syndicate Bank 3.4%, UCO Bank 3%, Indian Overseas Bank 2.9% and State Bank of India rises 2.8%

3:05pm: The S&P BSE Sensex is trading 1.74%, or 472.93 points, higher at 27,599.83, while the Nifty 50 is up 1.66%, or 137.95 points, at 8,461.15.

3:00pm: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd erased its 4% gains and turned negative. The stock falls 1.7% to Rs.68.50.

2:40pm: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 435.15 points, or 1.61%, to 27,562.81, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 123points, or 1.48%, to 8,446.70.

2:15pm: Power Finance Co. Ltd rises 5% to Rs.204. The stock gained for the eight consecutive sessions. On 8 July, the company informed to BSE that its board will meet on 14 July to consider bonus issue.

2:10pm: The rupee is trading at 67.16, up 0.32% from its previous close of 67.37. The local currency opened at 67.13 a dollar and touched a high of 67.06, a level last seen on 17 June.

2:00pm: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 463.15points, or 1.71%, to 27,590.05, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 131 points, or 1.58%, to 8,455.00.

1:50pm: Coal India Ltd rises 2.9% to Rs.320.65 ahead of its board meeting to consider buyback of shares.

1:45pm: Amtek Auto Ltd rises 7% to Rs.40.80 on the back of higher volumes. The stock gained in seven out of 10 trading sessions.

1:40pm: Ashok Leyland Ltd falls 1.1% to Rs.92.95. The stock fell in eight out of 11 trading sessions.

1:30pm: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 444.60 points, or 1.64%, to 27,572.54, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 127 points, or 1.53%, to 8,450.25.

1:25pm: Gail India Ltd rises 2.1% to Rs.383.40. According toBloomberg report India’s Petroleum and Natural Gas regulatory board raised Gail’s Kochi-Mangalore pipeline tariff by 48% from 1 Apirl.

1:20pm: Surya Roshni Ltd rises 4% to Rs.173.50. The company has informed to BSE that Care rating has upgraded the rating of its short term bank facilities to Care A1 and long term bank facilities to Care A.

1:15pm: Inox Wind Ltd rises 1.5% to Rs.242 after the company said in a notice to BSE that it won 50 mw order from Atria Power.

1:00pm: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 486.20 points, or 1.79%, to 27,613.20, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 140 points, or 1.69%, to 8,463.50.
