Ramdevs Patanjali to pit against global fast food giants

After ayurdev and natural personal care products and edibles, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali is planning to give tough competition to global fast-food giants by entering the restaurant industry in India. According to reports, the yoga guru stated that the company is working on an ‘extensive plan’ for starting a chain of restaurants.

The quick service restaurant chain will have outlets across India and will have 400 vegetarian recipes, the Times of India quoted Baba Ramdev as saying. The food menu of the restaurant will not be divided into south Indian and north Indian, he added.

Baba Ramdev stated that once the recipes are worked out the multinational chicken and mutton serving restaurants will have a hard time coping up. In fact, India has high numbers of vegetarian diners due to which even the global fast food chains need to modify their menus to add vegetarian items and local flavours.

The company is also planning to open restaurants in international markets in view of growing fondness for healthier vegetarian food.

Apart from the food industry, Patanjali Ayurved is also interested in launching an apparel brand to complete with some of the biggest multinational companies.
