Meet Virat Kohli: India's Rs 200 crore brand giant!

When it comes to raising the bar both on and off the field, no one knows it better than the Indian captain, Virat Kohli. He is undoubtedly one of the richest sport persons in India and in case you were not aware of his brand value, he is worth $92.5 million. That is only behind the richest superstar in India in terms of brand value – Shah Rukh Khan, who is worth $131.2 million.

Now Kohli has also signed an eight-year deal with Puma worth an astounding ₹ 110 crore. Now he has become the first Indian sportsperson to sign a ₹ 100-crore endorsement deal with one brand. Kohli will now be featuring for a brand that already has Usain Bolt as its ambassador and it has a rich history of partnering with world’s famous athletes like Pele, Maradona, Thierry Henry and many others.  

His meteoric rise both on and off is not unknown. He had started off from scratch and now he is nearing the zenith. The Indian captain also featured in Forbes last year. His salary in the IPL can stun many as he gets a salary of a little more than ₹ 2 crore every year from Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kohli was previously endorsing for Adidas and the deal ended last year. This deal with Puma will stretch over his second half of his already-majestic career. He is just 28 and already he will be the face of Puma for the next eight years. He is also the global ambassador of Audi for which he gets a hefty amount along with supercars from the wagon giant.

He also has his own clothing and accessories line called Wrogn. These are just few of them mentioned here as there are many more. He might just soon enter Forbes’ list of one of the richest sportsperson in the world as well.
