Indian Oil Prepares for 2000 km LPG pipeline

The project which is said to be the biggest pipeline project in the country which spans a length of 1,987 km is being considered by IOC authorities given ever increasing demand for cooking gas in the country.

 

After having imported LPG at Kandla port situated at Gujarat, LPG - the much sought after fuel would be transported through 1,987 km long pipeline to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh state, via Ahmedabad, Ujjain, Bhopal, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Lucknow.

 

IOC officials said that 3.75 million tonnes of LPG would be transported annually through the pipeline.

 

At present, 1415 km pipeline connectivity that supplies fuel from Jamnagar in Gujarat to Loni in Maharashtra, which is currently the longest pipeline in the country.
