Britannica CEO jumps to his death

 

Vineet Whig, the Chief Operating Officer of Encyclopaedia Britannica has committed suicide by jumping from the 19th floor of the building he lived in Gurgaon, late on Sunday. He was found in a pool of blood by the security guards of the building. According to reports, Whig's father suffered a heart attack after hearing of his 47-year-old son's death. He has been admitted to a hospital.

 

 

Whig lived in Block D of DLF Belvedere Park society in Gurgaon's Cyber City with his father, wife, two sons and a daughter. His body was found near Block C of the society. Preliminary investigation suggests that the MNC executive had jumped to his death into the ventilation shaft from 19th floor in Block C. Police said Whig's body was located today morning by sweepers and guards of the society. A suicide note recovered stated that he is under lot of stress and taking the extreme step as he is, "fed up", with his life. Gurgaon ACP Hawa Singh said that a security guard has confirmed that he saw Whig going to the C block of the society on Saturday. "He probably was contemplating suicide since a day ago," Hawa Singh said.
