Out of 2,02,000 ATMs in the country, only 22,500 can accept the new notes and dispense it. Therefore, once can understand the kind of frustration people are going through in India at this moment. The ATMs need to be re-calibrated with new parts for sure. Therefore, parts from China are being brought in to keep up with the pace and ease the discomfort and tension of the civilians.

State Bank of India chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya has already confirmed that it will take just a week to get all the ATMs running. Supplies have been stocked up in adequate numbers and they are doing everything to help the common man in the country.

However some of the bankers feel that this process of recalibration needs to pick its speed up and then only they will be able to meet the expectations of the public and help them in their cause.

The remote areas are going to face this issue for a little longer time as it will take more time to reset things up in those places.
