Some even buy utensils, brooms and even coriander. But there are some things which should not be bought on Dhanteras. We spoke to a few astrologers who suggested 10 things that should not be bought on Dhanteras.

2. Aluminum is considered a sign of bad luck. No new product made of aluminium should be brought home during the festival of Dhanteras.

3. One should never buy things made of iron on Dhanteras. According to astrologers, doing so would not bring the blessings of Kuber (God of wealth).

4. Sharp objects like knives, scissors, pins, needles should not be bought on the day of Dhanteras. Buying these things on Dhanteras is not considered auspicious.

5. Do not bring any kind of plastic items home on Dhanteras. Plastic items do not bring fortune.

6. One should not buy pots or bouquets made of ceramic i.e. porcelain on Dhanteras. There is no stability in these things, due to which there may be no prosperity in the house, say astrologers.

7. Glass utensils should not be bought on Dhanteras. Glass is believed to be related to Rahu. Products made of glass should not be used on this day.
