Telephone love: Youth marries 82-year-old after falling in love with her voice

He instantly fell in love with her voice.  Sofian Loho Dandel, 28, from North Sulawesi Indonesia, kept on talking to the caller who dialled the wrong number.

Her voice sounded so sweet and intimate to the young garage mechanic that he maintained a regular contact. The love of her voice grew intense, and the phone conversations went on for hours. Her 'caring, energetic voice' drew him closer. 

Soon, he realised that he was in love and declared his love. He decided to meet his love, Martha Potu for the first time. 

When he waited for Potu outside her door, Dandel was expecting a beautiful young lady to welcome him. He was shocked to see a frail figure 54 years senior to him. She had kept her age a secret from him. 

Dandel realised that Potu,82, was struggling to escape loneliness and boredom after her husband died long back and her children leaving the country seeking a job.

Her age didn't deter Dandel. Her story was as moving as her voice. He kept his promise and decided to hold her hand forever.  

Last week, the lovers exchanged vows in the presence of their kith and kin,NZHerald reported.  

Both to promised to be true to each other in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.
