You have articles telling women how to behave You have women telling you how it feels to be a woman in India Now, listen to what it means to be a MAN

Men are this and men are that. Men don’t have feelings, they don’t know tact. Men are beasts who think a woman is a feast.

Enough and more has been said on these lines.

But has anyone thought, what about the men? We all know what is feels like to be a woman in India but do you know how it feels to be a man?

Most men grow up listening to this – Boys don’t cry and those who do are weak. Men have to become the man of the house and men have to carry families ahead. Men need to be the breadwinner, the shoulder everyone can rest on. Men may want to pursue art but a degree in science or an engineer is best.

Cutting across these ropes that hold men down is this beautiful piece of slam poetry from 16-year-old Simar Singh, founder and curator of UnErase Poetry, a community to promote poetry and help poets grow. Mental health in a way you've seldom seen before.

Every line hits home and we are sure men listening to this nod in agreement. It’s time you also know ‘How men are taught to be a MAN’.

So call your father, your brother, your husband, your cousin, your friend, ask him were there any dreams he was forced to forget? Ask them about the lives they have been leading, burdened by responsibility and years of conditioning, ask them is this the life they really want to be leading? #UnMan yourself
