In 1908, the Toblerone was born. It set itself apart thanks to its triangular shape. Since then it’s been loved by chocoholics around the world.  It was often gifted from people returning from foreign shores. (Till we started getting it here, that is).

But, in 2016, the makers of Toblerone made a change to its icon design. Unsurprisingly, people did not take kindly to it.

Here’s what Twitter had to say:

However, a report by The Mirror, the reason for this change, according to its makers was, “due to rising costs of ingredients, they were forced to create wider gaps between the chocolate triangles. The size of the bars will stay the same, the chocolatiers said, although the weight will decrease.”  The 400g and 170g bars were the two bars that have seen this change.

Regular consumers of The Toblerone are upset by it. According to a BBC report, "Some consumers have described the move as 'the wrong decision' and said the bigger spaces looked "stupid'.

First, it was the Brexit, then Trump becomes the 45th President, and now, the iconic Toblerone has changed their design.
