Huang had visited a hospital in 1948 for delivery. But the doctors told her that the baby was dead inside the womb and they should remove it. They asked her to pay £ 100 (pounds). But she could not afford it and just returned home.
With no hope of arranging the money, she just decided to ignore it. So, the child remained in her stomach. In 2009, she had hurt her stomach and went to visit the doctor who had a shock of his life. There was a baby inside and the x-rays showed that it was 4.4 pounds. Then the doctors decided to take the baby out and found that the baby had turned into stone.
This is not a miracle but the condition has an explanation in the world of science. The researches in this issue say that it is a condition occurring when a fetus dies during abdominal pregnancy.
Usually the fetus decays causing severe infections and health problems to the mother, if not removed. But sometimes as the fetus is too large to be reabsorbed by the body it calcifies the outer part of the cover containing the baby. This cover shields mother’s womb from coming in direct touch of the dead tissue of the fetus. This condition is called Lithopedion.
