These gorgeous underground attractions are not to be missed.​


Waitomo Caves, New Zealand:

Located in North Auckland, in a tiny village called Waitomo. What makes this a must-visit is because of unique glowworm that resides in these caves. All you need to do is hop onto a boat, and glide silently through what is called the “Glowworm Grotto”, and watch this starry-looking glowworm galaxy.


 

 

Coober Pedy, Australia:

Most people have farmhouses to get away from the bustling crowd, but in the small town of Adelaide, have people who reside underground to beat the blistering heat. These homes are referred to as “ dug outs”. And its not just homes, churches and libraries among others are all based underground. This place is also known for its opals.


 

 

Weilicza Salt Mine, Poland:

It’s one of the oldest salt mines and is located Weilicza, southern Poland, and is a UNESCO approved site. It is located 135 meters below. One can find a cathedral, lake and a myriad of sculptures.

Home to over 6 million dead people, these underground tunnels that are a network of caves and quarries in Paris are truly an experience. All of that remains are human bones and skulls that go on for miles.  There are a number of secret entrances, however only a portion of it is accessed publicly; and since most of them are unmapped, you can get lost. Also, there are graffiti dating back to the French Revolution.
