1. Akki Rotti: Akki Rotti and Karnataka are synonymous. A popular breakfast item, akki rotti or rice bread is made with rice flour, and can be eaten plain.  Another variant of this is called Thalli pattu, and is made with additional ingredients like coriander leaves, onion and chillies for some heat.

2. Ragi Roti: Made from ragi flour, and spices this is healthy roti to have. It can be had for breakfast as well. In fact, it is a very healthy option to have.

3. Jolada Rotti: This type of rotti is mostly had in the North Karnataka belt, and is had with chutneys and curries. It is made with jowar. Unlike akki rotti, the jolada rotti is had during lunch. Another alternative to the jolada rotti is the kadak rotti. It’s hard and crisp. This kadak rotti is  It is slightly thicker and harder, and is often accompanied by gravies.

4. Kori Rotti: Similar to akki rotti, kori rotti is made from red rice flour. It can be had as a savoury or sweet item. As a savoury dish, it is often accompanied by chicken curry for non-vegetarians, and dal for vegetarians.  It is usually had in the afternoon for lunch, or dinner at night.  As a sweet item, it can also be had as a snack. It is mixed with jaggery and coconut.
