The high level of moisture during monsoon not only makes your hair frizzy, it also ruins your jewellery. Humidity takes the shine off your precious ornaments and leaves it looking old and used. If you've found your beautiful neck piece or earrings affected by the rains then follow tips by designers Anuradha Ramam and Tarang Arora, Creative Director and CEO at Amrapali Jewels.

One of the first things you should do is invest in a jewellery box which has different sections for each ornament. The box should be padded on the inside so that your jewellery doesn't get scratched.

Don't use liquid cleaners as it can get stuck in the engravings and will leave it looking lifeless.

if you want to clean your silver jewellery at home then use an ammonia and phosphate-free dishwashing soap with lukewarm water.

Remove your jewellery if it rains. Similarly, ensure that you take of all your jewellery before you step into the shower.

If you can't find a jewellery box which is padded then place cotton balls in the satchel. You can also place silicon gel in the back to prevent it from getting tarnished.

Wear the jewellery only after you've sprayed perfume and applied your make-up. The moisture from this could ruin your jewellery.
