The term "mushrooms" has its roots in Germany and Netherlands

Mushrooms have been regarded as a source of powerful nutrients since time immemorial. Edible mushrooms can be found below or above the ground, and are a good source of dietary fibre, protein, Vitamin C, Folic acid, iron, zinc and manganese.

Regular intake of mushrooms has proven to counter the production of cancerous cells preventing it from spreading to other parts of the body.  The potassium content in mushrooms, a vital mineral, helps in bringing down elevated blood pressure. It helps in the restoration of normal fluid and proper mineral balance bringing down the risk of a stroke.

Mushrooms are low in carbohydrates and sodium content, and free from cholesterol and fat.  They are said to have therapeutic effects on impotence, migraine headache, tumors, and influenza. Fresh mushrooms can be added to our daily menu in order to provide vital nutrients like niacin, selenium, and riboflavin.
