According to Richard Branson, “personality always wins over book smarts. Company knowledge and job-specific skills can be learned, but you can’t train a personality,”  reports LinkedIn.  A good attitude, friendly and being helpful are all important traits that go a long way.

 

 

 

Seek out their personality:
 

 

Now, interviews needn’t necessarily bring out one’s personality. Hence, it is necessary to ask open-ended questions that will draw out candidates’ responses, especially the more introverted and shy types. For that as an employer, you need to rely on your experience and ask them relevant questions.  

 

 

Experience:

Qualifications are good, but not necessary. While specialists are handy and necessary, also look for those people who have skills that are easily transferable. It becomes important when there are important all-hands-on-deck events, where everyone is required to pitch in.

 

Promote:  

An employee who has been in the company is aware of the company works, so it makes sense to promote an employee from within, then hire externally.
