There’s a lot of debate when it comes adding your hobbies at the end of the resume. Some believe it’s an outdated practice, other’s believe that it needs to be there to show a different aspect of your personality.

Whatever the case may be, should you choose to add a hobby, here are some that work to your advantage besides the usual reading, listening to music and watching movies.

Blogging:

It doesn’t have to be related to your work. Blogging has gained momentum ever since the 2000s. Blogging is one way of growing your personal brand. This will hold you in good stead especially if you are applying for marketing and communication divisions of a company.

Volunteering:

Be it for humans or animals, volunteering highlight a more compassionate side to yourself that may not necessarily show itself during the interview or during the job.

Sports:

Nothing shows team spirit or player if you have been a part of a team sport. The lessons you learnt in sports be it school or national level will always reflect in your work attitude. For instance, if you’ve lead a sports team, your leaderships skills will be appreciated in a work scenario.
