Green tea has been hailed for its health benefits from centuries around the globe. It is the best way to burn fat and increase memory power say researchers. But, a recent study has revealed that consuming too much green tea is dangerous for health, especially for those looking to conceive and  expectant mothers, because too much drinking of green tea can cause infertility, say experts.

Medical experts say that pregnant women should avoid drinking green tea as it can affect the growth and development of the baby.

No to Caffeine: A baby in the womb needs sufficient iron content, but the caffeine content in green tea does not allow the body to absorb iron, and the baby cannot digest the caffeine. Moreover, the increase of caffeine content in the body also does not allow the child to gain weight.

Folic Acid:  Folic acid is an important vitamin, and pregnant women need to produce folic acid in the body continuously.  However, green tea hampers this process, and less quantity of folic acid can prove problematic for the growth of child and health of the mother.

So, use green tea in limited quantity for good results. Pregnant women need to stay off it till they deliver.
