What happens when you marry technology and food?

Food Ink, a concept restaurant in the UK, is taking 3D printing out of factories and is bringing it to your plate.
3D printing is transforming the world as it is possible to make anything ranging from medical equipment to guns, and it is now revolutionising the food world. Food Ink, the world's first 3D restaurant is opening in London to serve futuristic meals, the 3D style.
Food Ink promises to be a one-of-a-kind gourmet experience from July 25 to 27, at their pop-up restaurant in Shoreditch, London, serving 3D printed culinary creations. You will get a chance to experience a food revolution where fine cuisine meets philosophy, art and tomorrow's technology.
The chefs at this restaurants are machines, literally. Though the food is prepared by human chefs, they are produced by 3D printers. The guest will have to download the nine-course menu rather than ordering items.
Not only the food, but also the cutlery, lighting, art, vases and furniture at this unique pop-up restaurant will also be 3D printed. The experience will also include wall-to-wall projections, virtual reality headsets, and even music composed by artificial intelligence.
The concept was trialled with six guests at the inaugural ceremony of the 3D Food Printing Conference in Venlo, Holland, in April this year.
However, the experience is likely to leave a dent in your wallet with it being priced $330 or €250 per head.
