SIT team investigating into Anurag Tewari's death meets officials in City

The Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating into the death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari has reached Bengaluru and is gathering details. SIT members first visited the Food and Civil Supplies department where Anurag Tewari was the Commissioner and spoke to the officials.

The team would enquire in detail whether the IAS officer was investigating into any scam - as it was being reported. The team also visited his residence at Sadashivnagar and gathered some clues, it is said. Prior to this, the team met the Inspector General Roopak Kumar Datta and held the discussion. The team is also expected to visit the districts where Tewari had served, reports Vijay Karnataka.

Meanwhile, Tewari's brother Mayank told reporters that he did not come to assist the team but it's a personal visit. "I would not give out more details as my life - like my brother - is in danger. I will stay for three more days in Bengaluru," Mayank said. 'It is unfortunate that the government has not seriously considered the death of honest IAS officer. Repeated letters to the Home Department - in this regard - have gone in vain," rued Mayank.

He also pointed out at the fact that his brother - Anurag Tewari - seldom visited Uttar Pradesh in his 10 years of service in the state. "His salary was withheld since six months. But after his death, his four-month salary has been credited within a week after his death. I would like to raise this issue with the chief minister," Mayank told reporters in Bengaluru.
