Selfie craze kills 21 year old college student in Karnataka

A 21-year-old man slipped and fell into a falls and died as he was trying to take selfie standing on a slippery rock.

Naveen Kumar, a Final year BCom student of Doddaballapur Government College died in a fatal selfie try near Channagiri Falls at Chikkaballapur in Karnataka.

Naveen had come to visit the Channagiri falls with his friends. He stood on a rock, where algae had developed. The moment he stood on the rock and got ready to click the selfie, he slipped and fell inside the falls and breathed his last.

A case in this regard has been booked by the Nandi Police Station in Chikkaballapur. This is the fifth selfie death in Karnataka in three different incidents within a month.

 Earlier, friends captured the photo where their classmate was drowning in the water, but others were busy taking selfies instead of saving him.

In another incident, three students were trying to take selfie along the running train near Ramanagar and met a tragic end to the extent that their bodies also could not be recognised.
