Nikita has made her name in the South Indian film industry including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Nikita had her ups and downs in the Kannada film industry. But after the problems with her closeness to Darshan, she was away from the filmdom for a while. Nikita Thukral was reportedly banned from Kannada films for three years from September in 2011 by the Kannada Film Producers' Association (KFPA) for her relationship with actor Darshan. However, actor Darshan was not banned, and he continued to act.
But she made her come back and acted in the to star cast movie with Real Star Upendra and Kichcha Sudeep named 'Mukunda Murari'. In fact, the movie was released on 28, October in 2016, after her marriage with Mumbai-based businessman Gagandeep Singh.
