No Janata Darshan since 18 months Has CM forgotten the people who voted him to power

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had always taken pride in claiming himself to be a people's leader. And his 'Janata Darshan' programmes were quite popular with people from far off places swarming his home office, 'Krishna' in Bengaluru with their grievances. But now it appears that the chief minister is no longer interested in listening to people's problems. For, it has been over a year - precisely 18 months - since the chief minister has held Janata Darshan, reports Suvarna News.

The 'Janata Darshan' conducted by chief Minister Siddaramaiah was different from what his predecessors did. He did not hold 'Janata Darshan' for the sake of it - like the previous chief ministers. Janata Darshan provides people an opportunity to pour their grievances to chief minister, directly. Majority of the previous chief ministers would receive representations from the waiting public and promise to look into their problems.

But Siddaramaiah was a man of action. He would not just receive the complaints but would take the officials - particular to any problem - to task. Long queues in front of his home office 'Krishna' - twice a week (as announced) - were proof to the popularity of 'Janata Darshan'. There have been many incidences where the chief minister had taken lackadaisical officials to task - especially when aggrieved would complain that despite his order, officials had failed to look into their problems.

But these days Siddaramaiah has no time to meet the waiting public outside 'Krishna'. In 2013 - when he assumed office - he had conducted 'Janata Darshan' at least nine times. Except for one 'Janata Darshan' in 2015 November, he has not held any so far. With elections scheduled for next year, chief minister seems to be busy in politics than meeting the people who want to pour out their grievances to him.
