According to the latest reports, Congress has extended unconditional support to JD(S). From JD(S) top leaders to important leaders of Congress are meeting at the residence of former PM Deve Gowda to finalise the alliance.

It is said that Deve Gowda has offered the Deputy Chief Minister's position to G Parameshwara of Congress.

It is said that Deve Gowda is ready to agree for a coalition government and not for outside support. Sources also said that JD(S) had demanded 14 key portfolios including Home and Revenue, whereas Congress will get 20 other ministries.

As Congress has extended unconditional support, the pact is said to be final.

However, in another development, G Parameshwara who went to the Governor's house along with a delegation, had to return empty-handed as the Governor refused to meet them.

Going by the rules, the Governor will invite the party with largest number i.e. BJP which has got 104 seats and is short of only nine MLAs to form the government.

Currently, with 78 seats of Congress and 38 seats of JD(S), both parties have the magic number. But will Operation Kamala play a role in breaking this magic number?
