Cubbon Park police have arrested three brothers for making hoax bomb call on Friday. Babu (24), Zakir (22) and Khaja (20) from Ramanagar are workers at a silk spinning unit. They visited the Muruga Mohalla dargah near Chintamani on July 6. Later they went to Hosakote and stayed at a relative’s house. On July 7, they stole two mobiles from a shop in Arasinakunte and one mobile from a shop in Kurubara Pete in Hoskote and escaped.

On July 7 at around 10 pm, they called Namma 100 and said there was a bomb in Cubbon Park, which would go off in a few minutes and disconnected the call. Immediately, the police and dog squad inspected the park and found that it was a hoax call.

A case was booked at Cubbon Park and investigation officials traced the miscreants based on the call. They confessed that they were drunk when made the call. Zakir had made the call just for fun and they decided to play the prank, they said. They are now booked for theft also and inquiries are being made if there are any previous cases booked against them in Ramanagara, reports Kannada Prabha.
