Final provision to write Pre-University supplementary examination for old text books till 2018

  • Special opportunity to students to write the examinations for the old text books that they have studied till 2018.
  • The opportunity provided to appear for 6 attempts to clear all papers according to old syllabus finishes by March 2018.
  • The unsuccessful students appearing again must write examinations for new textbooks.
  • In the new system, 70 marks are allotted for written examination and 30 for practical.
  • Students have to write for 80 marks including the 10 for practical and the marks will be converted for 100.
Final provision to write Pre University supplementary examination for old text books till 2018

The Pre-University Board has provided special opportunity for students who have failed and appearing for the supplementary examinations to write the examinations for the old text books that they have studied till 2018. The opportunity provided to appear for 6 attempts to clear all papers according to old syllabus finishes by March 2018.  

However, in view of provisions given for science subjects, the students of arts, home science, computer science and Statistics appealed for an extra attempt and the Board has granted them time till 2018 supplementary examination in June to write for old text books, announced the board, reported Kannada Prabha.

After 2018, supplementary examinations will be held for new textbooks and answering for old books will not be permitted. If in case t5he student fails again at this supplementary examination, he or she has to study the new textbooks to appear for the examination, said the board.

For the science division, students appearing for Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics supplementary examinations held at 2017 June-July could answer for old text books. The unsuccessful students appearing again must write examinations for new textbooks said the board.

In the old textbook written examination had 90 marks and practical for 10 marks. In the new system, 70 marks are allotted for written examination and 30 for practical. Hence those who fail again will not get an opportunity to write practical again. Instead they have to write for 80 marks including the 10 for practical.  The marks will be converted for 100 and announced said the board.
