Speaking at a private programme, Ramesh Kumar said the Central government is waiving huge loans from influential corporate companies but has no intentions of waiving farm loans taken by poor farmers from nationalised banks. Farmers are the food providers to the country. But the Central government is neglecting them. He suggested the farmers not to repay loans to nationalised banks until the Central government recovers Corporate loans. Calling it the double standards of the Central government, he gave a call to the farmers to condemn Centre’s attitude by desisting from paying their loans raised from the national banks.

It can be recalled here that the State government has requested the Centre to waive farm loans from various nationalised banks and it has waived farm loans up to Rs 50,000. However, the Centre has not responded to State’s appeal, yet.
