A student of a private school in Bengaluru was found hanging from the fan at his house in Soladevanahalli in Bengaluru. According to parents, he might have committed suicide as they had scolded him for not studying well.

Thus it is speculated that pressure from the parents about studies led the boy to take the extreme step. According to sources, Manjunath Reddy, a Tenth standard student was pursuing studies in the private school in the city.

As he could not get good marks in previous examinations, the parents had admitted him to tuition classes. He had been to the tuition class on Wednesday, but when the parents returned home, he was found hanging from the fan on November 8.

A case in this regard has been booked in the Soladevanahalli Police Station, and the post-mortem was conducted at Sapthagiri Hospital.

His father Chandrashekhar Reddy worked as an assistant to the mason and wanted the son to study well so that he would not have to struggle in life. There was pressure from the family to get good results in the examinations.

Manjunath was studying in the tenth standard and had to face public exams, which would decide the future course of studies. But it looks like he was not interested in studies and allegedly took the extreme decision not able to believe in himself.

This is a sad development. Though it is not right on the part of parents to put pressure on the students to fare well, it is not acceptable that students take the extreme step for a reason like this or any other reason.
