Altaf Khan to quit Congress join JDS to contest against rebel Zameer Ahmed in Karnataka Assembly Election

If sources are to be believed, Congress leader Altaf Khan from JJ Nagar will quit the party and join JD(S) ahead of Karnataka Elections 2018. He is likely to contest from Chamarajapet, the stronghold of Zameer Ahmed, former JD(S) rebel.

An official announcement on this is likely to be made tomorrow (April 2). War of words has been expressed between JD(S) leaders and then rebel leader Zameer Ahmed. Zameer at a point had even said that if he loses against the JD(S) contestant in the next Assembly elections, he will behead himself in front of the media.

On March 25, the seven JD(S) rebel leaders including Zameer Ahmed Khan joined Congress. This enraged the JD(S) leaders, and it looks like the party has made an agreement with Altaf Khan, Congress leader.

Accordingly to sources, Altaf Khan is said to be quitting Congress as he is disappointed about Zameer getting the ticket and has now decided to contest against Zameer Ahmed Khan.
