A techie partying along with his five friends at an apartment in Bellandur fell to death from the ninth floor and died on the spot.
Gautham was hosting Holi party for his friends in his apartment.
The 28-year-old engineer has been identified as Gautham Kumar, hailing from Patna. He was a resident of Sobha Daisy Apartments and was working in Indicubeto at Kadubeesanahalli, Bengaluru.
According to the Times of India report, Gautham was leaning on the four-foot parapet wall in the balcony, when he lost his balance and fell to the ground from the ninth floor.
It is also said that friends partying along with him learnt about the incident only after 15 minutes.
The report also states that according to CCTV footage obtained from the apartment, it is clear that Gautham walked alone to the balcony.
When his friends did not see Gautham, and he did not even receive their calls, they started searching for him and found a large group of people gathered on the ground. When they checked, it was Gautham, who had died on the spot.
The police do not suspect any foul play, but Gautham's sister has filed a case of unnatural death. However, none of Gautham's other relatives have reportedly come forward to file a case in this regard.
Gautham had come to Bengaluru five years ago and along with three friends had brought the apartment, a few months ago, said the report.
His body was sent to post-mortem at St John's Medical Hospital, and the family is awaiting reports.
