The election to the state legislative assembly being only six dates away,  80% of the seats in the buses plying out of Bengaluru on May 11 are booked.

The election to the state legislative assembly being only six dates away,  80% of the seats in the buses plying out of Bengaluru on May 11 are booked. Lakhs of people have come to Bengaluru seeking jobs from different parts of Karnataka. IT-BT companies, garment factories, construction industry employees, are going out of Bengaluru to cast their votes in the ensuing election on May 12. May 12 has been declared a holiday and people living in far away districts are leaving to their hometowns. They have booked their tickets for May 11, to go to their respective places.  There are all possibilities that booking will be 100% as only 6 days are remaining for the election.

More ticket bookings are noticed in the buses going to Mangalore, Chikmagalur, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Davanagere, Madikeri, Koppala, Raichur and Yadgir districts. Adding to this all the trains going to Mangalore, Hubballi, Dharwad, Gadag districts are almost fully booked.

The buses like Irvatha, Iravatha club class, Iravatha Gold, Rajahansa, are booked to 80%  capacity for May 11. Even the ordinary buses are also being booked to maximum capacity.  People have started booking their tickets from the first week of April. A senior officer from KSRTC told that if there is a demand for more buses, they are ready to provide them.

Vehicle arrangement by the candidates:  Candidates in the city are arranging vehicles for the voters to go to their constituency to cast their votes. They are even giving pick and drop back facilities by booking tempo travellers, mini buses and cars.
