Police custody for actor Darshan; Pavithra Gowda and 10 accused in judicial custody

In relation to the Renukaswamy murder case, the Bengaluru court has ordered the placement of actor Darshan and three other accused in police custody. The court has remanded Darshan (A1), Dhanraj, Vinay, and Pradosh to police custody for two days. Dhanraj used a megger device to administer electrical shocks to Renukaswamy, according to reports.

Actress Pavithra Gowda, identified as the primary accused (A1) in Renukaswamy murder case, has been remanded to judicial custody. Following the conclusion of her police custody, Pavithra, along with other accused, was presented before the court on June 20. The court has now ordered that she be held in judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Jail.  The remaining accused Pawan, Raghavendra, Nandish, Jagdish, Anukumar, Ravishankar, Deepak, Keshavmurthy, and Nikhil Naik have been remanded to judicial custody.


The case revolves around the murder of Renukaswamy from Chitradurga, who was reportedly sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda. In retaliation, Swamy was brought to Bengaluru and subsequently murdered. The police have arrested a total of 19 individuals in connection with this case. Among the accused are prominent figures, including actor Darshan Thoogudeepa (A2), Pawan, Vinay, Pradosh, Nagaraj, and Laxman.

The investigation is being conducted by the Annapurneswari Nagar Police Station in Bengaluru. Significant evidence has already been collected, and various locations have been inspected as part of the investigative process. This includes a detailed search at Pavithra Gowda's residence. Despite the progress, the investigation is still ongoing, with efforts to uncover more details and evidence.

During the court session, the judge ordered Pavithra Gowda's transfer to judicial custody. As a result, she will now be held at Parappana Agrahara Jail. This development marks a critical phase in the legal proceedings against her.

Following the court's decision, Pavithra Gowda's daughter, Khushi Gowda, along with her grandmother, visited the court to meet her.
