Satyajit Biswas, the former Trinamool MLA from Krishnaganj in Nadia, attended a function in his hometown on February 9, 2019. While attending the function, a few miscreants shot at him. The MLA died on the spot.
As soon as the incident occurred, a brawl started in the state. It was known that being an MLA, Satyajit Biswas always had a security guard with him. But incidentally, the security guard was on leave on that day. The state government directed a CID probe into the MLA's murder.
