From Thursday, at least 15,000 worshippers will be permitted daily access to the Sai Baba shrine in Shirdi, Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district, using online permits. The district government and the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust met earlier this week to plan to reopen sites of worship throughout Maharashtra on October 7. An official stated that 15,000 worshippers with internet permits would be allowed to enter the temple daily. He also noted that the temple's prasad counter would stay closed. The district administration has forbidden children under the age of ten, pregnant women, sick individuals, seniors over the age of 65, and those who do not wear masks from visiting the temple perimeter.
