TMC flag hoisted inside Visva-Bharati University campus

Before West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's roadshow in Bolpur on Tuesday (December 29), the Trinamool Congress party flag was hoisted inside the Visva-Bharati campus.

Before West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's roadshow in Bolpur on Tuesday (December 29), the Trinamool Congress party flag was hoisted inside the Visva-Bharati campus. The flags have been put in various areas, including the road in front of the Visva-Bharati.

On Tuesday morning, lots of TMC party flags were hung in front of the university’s synagogue and on the adjacent streets. In addition, flags were put on Lodge Road adjacent to the campus. Various controversy has been started in the political arena after the TMC flag was hoisted inside the Visva-Bharati campus.

Before Union home minister Amit Shah’s visit In Bengal, posters with pictures of Amit Shah and Anupam Hazra were given in front of the gate of Visva-Bharati. Amit Shah was also accused of insulting Rabindranath Tagore by putting a picture of the poet under his picture in the poster.

A few days ago, Trinamool's Birbhum district president Anubrat Mandal said that if necessary, the TMC party flag would be hoisted inside Visva-Bharati. However, the flag was hoised before Mamata Banerjee’s roadshow.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister's remarks at the centenary celebrations of Visva-Bharati and the allegation that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was not invited have created an atmosphere of central-state conflict. Meanwhile, the waving of the TMC party flag inside the campus has caused outrage among some sections of the education community.
