PM Modi launches ‘Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Abhiyan’ to provide jobs to 1.25 crore migrant workers
The Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyan’, which was launched by PM Modi virtually, will cover 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh, which has seen more than 30 lakh migrant labourers return home following the lockdown in the country
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (June 26) launched the 'Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Abhiyan' which seeks to promote local entrepreneurship and create partnership with industrial associations to provide employment opportunities. Atma Nirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan, a 125-day campaign is to provide employment to 1.25 crore migrant workers.

At the virtual launch, PM Modi interacted with villagers from six districts of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath was also present during the virtual launch of the campaign.
Villages across all districts of the state joined the event through Common Service Centres and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
The scheme seeks to dovetail Central and state government's programmes, while also creating partnerships with industry and other organisations as the COVID-19 pandemic affected the workforce in general and migrant workers in particular.
The campaign is intensely focused towards providing employment and promoting local entrepreneurship.
