A restaurant owner in Greater Noida, near Delhi, was shot dead allegedly by a delivery agent on Tuesday night over a delay in getting an order ready. The police have opened an investigation and are looking through CCTV video from the neighbourhood to find the culprits.  The man who was slain managed a restaurant inside the Mitra residential complex. On Tuesday evening, a Swiggy representative appeared to the restaurant to pick up an order of chicken biryani and poori sabzi. While the biryani arrived on schedule, a worker advised the delivery agent that the other order will take a little longer.

An altercation erupted between the two, and the delivery agent allegedly verbally insulted a restaurant employee.
As per media reports, Sunil Agarwal, the restaurant's owner intervened and tried to halt the altercation. He was shot in the head. Two other people were at the spot at the time of the crime. Authorities have stated that they are investigating who shot the guy to death. He was transported to the hospital by the restaurant employee and other staff, where he was declared dead.

The police are investigating the CCTV cameras and have filed a complaint against the delivery man, who is still at large.
The event occurred only days after an advertising by another meal delivery app, Zomato, sparked outrage. The ad, which included Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, sparked outrage on social media for normalising hard work.
