Mutilated body of youth found from Vaidyabati canal in Hooghly

The mutilated body of a kidnapped youth was recovered from the Vaidyabati canal in Hooghly. The name of the deceased is Vishnu Mal. The family alleges that on October 10, the young man was picked up from his house in Kamarpara, Chunchura by a miscreant named Bishal Das and his accomplices. 

Although the main accused in the incident is elusive, his two accomplices were arrested. The mutilated body of the missing youth was found wrapped in a packet from Vaidyabati canal on the side of Delhi Road after interrogation. Police claim that the kidnapping and murder took place due to love affair.

According to reports, Vishnu Mal, a resident of Rayerber area of Chuchura had a love affair with a young woman from Markandbali area. On October 11, Vishnu was talking on the phone with his girlfriend in front of the house. A miscreant named Bishal Das came to Vishnu’s house and forced him to get inside Bishal’s car. The girlfriend heard Vishnu's quarrel with the miscreant from the other side of the phone. Realizing the danger, she informed the police.

After getting the news, police started investigating the matter. Police of Chandanandar Commissionerate arrested two people who were involved with Bishal in the kidnapping and murder of Vishnu. After interrogating the detainees, the police came to know that Vishnu's body had been dumped in pieces in Vaidyabati canal. The deceased's lover claimed that Bishal used to like her. Upon rejecting his love proposal several times, Bishal got angry and killed Vishnu to teach the girl a lesson. The main accused Bishal is still absconding. Police have started searching for him.
