Ever since the Indian army killed the infamous Hizbul commander, Burhan Wani, the valley is torn between civilian protests and security forces, affecting the lives of natives in Kashmir. The death toll has climbed to 34 and over a thousand are injured.
It has especially affected the post- Ramadan wedding season and Greater Kashmir decided to send a powerful yet grim indication to the outside world about what the locals are going through by carrying classified advertisements of cancelled marriages and ceremonies.
According to media reports, most of weddings and ceremonies have been cancelled in Srinagar as the entire city is under curfew. While most of them have postponed their marriages, many have said that "the marriage ceremony would be performed with utmost simplicity."
