In the last Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress had a bad result in North Bengal. The party is aiming to win seats from North Bengal in 2021 assembly polls. However, the Trinamool is quite worried about the current situation in North Bengal.

The BJP, the main opposition party in the state, is quite optimistic about North Bengal in the forthcoming assembly elections. Banerjee’s visit in North Bengal is significant enough to energize the leaders from the staff team in the area.

A few days ago, Trinamool Congress leader Mihir Goswami left the Trinamool Congress and joined the BJP. The BJP leaders demanded that more TMC leaders should join the party before the polls. Banerjee’s visit to North Bengal is believed to strengthen the situation in the area.
