A 21-year-old engineering student in Kolkata is living in fear, after the residents in her area decided to teach her a lesson for her Facebook post in which she had criticised Mamata Banerjee.

According to an Indian Express report, two days after her post on Facebook, her entire posted printed on a large banner and was put outside her neighbourhood.

In her posts, Rajashree Chattopadhyay, an MTech student from Calcutta University had criticised West Bengal chief minister’s parade for Goddess Durga. The student since then has received several threats, including from local women's group linked with the Trinamool Congress, the ruling party in the state.

Rajashree had questioned the need for carrying out such a lavish Durga Puja processions in the state - hailed by Mamata Banerjee to be on par with the Rio carnival.

According to reports the hoarding has been put up by ‘Dum Dum Ward 8 Citizens Committee.’ The local residents claim that if the student has the right to criticise the CM on Facebook, they have a right to criticise the girl in public.
