Kerala gold smuggling case: No clean chit to KT Jaleel; Enforcement Directorate to question minister again

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recorded the statements of higher education minister KT Jaleel in two days.

Kochi: Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question minister KT Jaleel again in connection with the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case. ED officer SK Mishra added that no clean chit has been given to higher education minister KT Jaleel.

According to reports, ED recorded the statement of KT Jaleel in two days. The report added that the minister appeared before the ED office on Thursday (September 11) at 7.30 pm that continued till 11 pm. Further on Friday (September 12) he appeared at 10 am for interrogation.

The minister was grilled regarding his admission about accepting consignments of religious books from the UAE through diplomatic channel, an act purportedly seen as an FCRA violation.

The minister maintained that it was not questioning, and he will cooperate with the ongoing probe.
