Lakhs of students in the second pre-university had taken up exams before the nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 24. However, the last English examination was postponed for three months due to the coronavirus induced lockdown.

The examination was scheduled on March 23 in various parts of the state.

The department of pre-university education had issued the standard operating procedures for conducting the examination including sanitising the exam halls, the length of the benches, the number of students to be present in each room, thermal screening and usage of sanitisers and masks.

The pre-university course of PUC is a two-year course including Class 11 and Class 12 called PUC I and PUC II. It is based on the PUC score that candidates can get admission to universities.

As per the new guidelines from the UGC (University Grants Commission), the academic session for 2020-21 will start from September 2020 onwards.
