A 25-year-old man died and two others were injured after their speeding motorcycle lost control in Hyderabad's Khajaguda. Police are also investigating the death of a woman hit by an Aston Martin, allegedly driven by a Janasena Party MP's son.
A 25-year-old man died on the spot, and two others were injured after their speeding motorcycle lost control while negotiating a curve in the Khajaguda area under the Raidurgam Police Station limits, police said on Saturday.
According to police officials, all three are natives of West Bengal. The deceased was identified as Abbas Siddiq (25), who was riding as the rear pillion. The rider, Sahasra Chattopadhyay (25), and the middle pillion rider, Abhijith Singh (25), sustained severe injuries and were shifted to CARE Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of today near the Engineering Staff College when the three youths were travelling from Khajaguda towards Anjayya Nagar on a high-end motorcycle.
"While proceeding near the ESI 2nd Gate and taking a right turn towards the CARE Hospital Main Road, the rider allegedly lost control of the motorcycle due to over-speeding while negotiating a sharp curve, resulting in the accident," a police official said.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to a state-run hospital for a post-mortem examination (PME). Police said that a First Information Report (FIR) is being registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
Probe continues in woman's death from Aston Martin crash
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the investigation into the death of 26-year-old saleswoman Bharati Mukhi, who was allegedly hit by an Aston Martin near a mall in Madhapur here on August 16, is continuing, with blood samples of the accused sent for forensic examination.
According to Madhapur Station House Officer K V Subbarao, Mukhi and her colleague had gone towards ITC Kohenur to collect meals at around 3 pm. While returning towards the mall and crossing the road, a car allegedly came at high speed in a rash and negligent manner and hit Mukhi.
Mukhi sustained severe injuries to her head and was rushed to a Hospital in Jubilee Hills, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Based on a complaint, Madhapur Police registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. During the investigation, police identified the person driving the car as Lingameneni Sanjush, 21, son of businessman and Janasena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingameneni Ramesh. Sanjush, a businessman and resident of Madhapur, was apprehended on the same day, police said. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized. (ANI)
