Bengaluru: Very heavy rains were experienced across Bengaluru from midnight to morning on Wednesday.

Unexpected rains have lashed the entire city creating flood like situations in Horamavu, Hennur, Sanjaynagar, Sahakarnagar and a few more areas.

Most of the residents of these areas were up all night as the power supply was cut down and the water from the roads started entering their houses.

Despite several calls made to both BBMP and BESCOM by the residents, none of the civic bodies came to their help.

The residents of these areas complained that waterlogged roads led to flooding in their homes because of the poor sewage and drainage system in their areas.

Many residents complained that this has been the situation of their areas every year during the monsoon season.

Furious and helpless residents shared pictures of their homes and cars surrounded by water on social media, seeking help.

On September 7, the director in the department of meteorology CS Patil had indicated that there is a chance of several parts of Karnataka receiving heavy rainfall till September 10.

Northern interior Karnataka also may get widespread rainfall. The quantum of rainfall in Bengaluru too will go up.

An orange alert has also been issued for Chikkamgaluru, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru city and rural districts.
