Days after PM Modi labelled self-styled cow vigilante groups as 'anti-social' elements; the Haryana government has decided to issue special ID cards to 100 individuals designated as 'Gau-Rakshaks'.

This, according to the Haryana government, will help separate 'anti-social' Gau-Rakshaks from 'true' Gau-Rakshaks.
This list of 'official' cow protectors has been made after reports emerged on that 'fake' cow protectors were allegedly extorting ₹8,000 per vehicle in Hisar district.
"A few criminals are posing as cow protectors or cow devotees," said State cow commission chief and RSS ideologue Baani Ram Mangla, according to a Times of India report.
Mangla said a total of 100 'official' cow protectors would get an ID card, but helpfully added that they would not have any formal powers to charge a fine from truckers.
Rather, their job would be to inform the Task Force for further investigation.
The Task Force, incidentally, consists of 300 jawans, headed by an IPS officer, Bharti Arora.
