A four-year-old Dalit girl from a village in Hapur district in UP was raped and abandoned by unidentified men on Saturday evening. Followed by which, the angry villagers blocked the National Highway-24 demanding the arrest of the perpetrators.
UP police then reached the spot and cleared the traffic after assuring the villagers that they will hunt down the perpetrators at the earliest.
According to a report in The Huffington Post, the Dalit family was sleeping outside their house on Saturday evening when they suddenly realised that the girl was missing.The family looked for her everywhere possible and finally found her unconscious and naked near a tubewell in the village. She is now being treated in a private hospital in Meerut.
SP Alankrita Singh said that a rape case has been registered in this connection and teams have been formed to nab the men.
